Sad News

It is with deep sorrow that we, Alice's family, have to give you the sad news that Alice went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, January 10th, around 6pm.

After a "good day", her carotid artery burst and she passed quickly. Jack was with her and was able to quickly tell her that we who remain behind will be okay and that she knows she would soon be with her Lord and dear husband, Ed. She was able to nod her head in acknowledgment but soon faded away.

Funeral details are pending and will be posted on the blog.

Thank you for all your prayers over the years. She was an amazing servant of the Lord and a wonderful mother and grandmother and friend.

Dr. and Mrs. Ed made such an impression on us while we attended Judson in the 70's. They shared with a Humanities class that through the years of their marriage there were many times when they had to confront a situation and make a conscious determination to work through it and stay together. We have applied that diligently through our 30 year marriage.

Life is made sweeter by having people like Alice enter in, no matter how briefly. She and her beloved Dr. Ed reflected the true spirit of Christ in such a genuine, humble fashion. They live on through their impact on our lives.

My Uncle Ed and Aunt Alice were very special to me. Never will I forget Uncle Ed's sparkling blue eyes that pierced my heart and made me think that he was able to read my thoughts! Both of them always were encouraging to me and very kind to my husband and young family. They have certainly left a legacy and I am proud to be called their niece.

My memories of your mother are wonderful . She taught me many wonderful things that I am so greatful to have learned I am also greatful to be a part of your families life as well.

I will not be able to attend the funeral but my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your families through this week. Im Quite positve your mother and father are singing Somewhere in the Heavans making joyfull music that everyone will enjoy as we did here on earth.

Dear Nick, I could not find a guestbook @ Judson to leave our condolences but found Aunt Alice's blog and hope this will come through. We had every intention of being with your family today to give our respects and to celebrate Alice's beautiful life and example she left for us all. Unfortunately we could not get there. Please know we were there in our hearts and prayers..When I think of Alice I think of an amazing, giving, and strong woman.( Aust family traits all!)I admired so much her faith in her Savior. I am confident she is at peace because I know that she is now with Him, Uncle Ed and her family gone before her and no longer in any discomfort. I know you will find comfort in your many loving memories with her. Love from Cindi Juliano and family & Aunt Marge Aust (Uncle Ted's family)
